PROJECT DESCRIPTOIN

This apartment was purchased by a young, French businessman who had recently moved to the country. He didn’t bring anything from home and was literally starting from scratch!

I filled the apartment with marble, black metals, different fabrics and copper to create a rich vibe. The materials spoke to one another beautifully.

The owner needed the relatively small space to be comfortable both for hosting many friends, and for working from home.

I decided to create scattered seating areas throughout the apartment so that a large group of guests would be more dispersed. This kept the space airy yet ideal for mingling . The dining room itself was designed to be a workstation by day, and an additional great spot for friends by night. I also connected the indoor and outdoor seating areas so that, when the balcony doors are open on summer nights, the hosting space nearly doubles.

The owner also loves to tan, and does so nearly every day. I wanted to give him the ability to do so in his own home. So I designed the balcony space to be so comfortable, he wouldn’t even want to go to the nearby beach!
