The core of my design philosophy is first and foremost - you! I know, it sounds simple and maybe even obvious, but this is often the key factor that is overlooked by designers. Oftentimes we walk into a space that feels lacklustre or uninspiring and we can’t really tell why, even if the place is gorgeous - it lacks something. That undefinable thing is actually a story - a person -  a life. My design approach is entirely focused on your story and how I can help you tell it through your home or your business. I have been working in this field for 12 years and I can tell you that this is by far the thing I love the most about my career. Getting to know new people, understanding them and then surprising them with the utter joy of a space that is entirely them.

My life experiences give me a little twist when it comes to how I see design. At 22 I managed a team of 40 people in a high tech company. There everything was based on product - who is the target audience? What experience do we need the user to go on? It’s actually the same thing with a home or a business. As a team we need to asses what kind of experience you want yourself and your guests to go on when they enter your home. Or for a business we need to consider what outcome you need from clients and how your space best allows for that outcome.

I come from an artist family. Since I was a little boy I used to sit in my mom’s lap as she sculpted and painted with her hands. She would explain each twist and turn. I learned about the fundamentals of art from such an early age that it is entirely my DNA. The combination between this artistic base and the years of product management result in my out of the box thinking and solutions.

We spend so much time in our homes, and put so much effort into our business - so why don’t we expect that these spaces should bring us joy? Oftentimes people think it takes a large amount of money to make a space feel good, or that their particular home is unsalvageable, but I promise you that every space can be made into something that you will feel proud of!  It just takes a unique approach and some real good positive energy.
